Edinburgh Depression Postpartum Scale (EDPS)

The EPDS is widely used to perform the screening of depressive symptoms that manifest themselves during postpartum. It is a self-administered instrument and its purpose is to measure the presence and intensity of depressive symptoms experienced in the last seven days. The EPDS is a tool that allows its user to do a postpartum depression screening, and it consists of a self-administered questionnaire of 10 questions that has been validated for more than 12 languages. Responses score of 1.2 or 3, with a maximum score of 30. A score higher than or equal to 12 or 13 identifies women with postpartum depression.
